scheduling and fees

 Mr. Hartsuyker’s rates are as follows:

HALF DAY RATE: $3,750.00 

FULL DAY RATE:  $7,000.00 

Each side’s counsel or claims representative is responsible for paying an equal share of the mediator’s charges unless we are notified that the parties have agreed to a different financial arrangement. The half day and full day rates include reading the mediation briefs and any writings or records that counsel submit. The mediator may, at their discretion, charge for mediation services he provides following the session, but only if prior client approval is obtained. We do not charge an administrative or file opening or review  fee.  

Legal counsel or a party’s insurance carrier are retaining Mr. Hartsuyker and are, therefore, responsible for paying his fee for the mediation services he provides. Mr. Hartsuyker’s Corporate Taxpayer Identification Number is 85-3560217. Please make your check payable to Hartsuyker Mediation Services.

If you have a specific date(s) that works for all parties, please be prepared to provide those dates at the time of contact or submit them with your case submission on this website.

Mr. Hartsuyker recognizes the critical importance of mediating a case only when the parties and their counsel are truly ready to proceed. Sometimes, something unanticipated occurs after a mediation session is scheduled and it becomes necessary to change the session date. As long as the mediation session goes forward on the rescheduled date you will not be charged for the continuance. 

Should you decide to cancel your session because your matter has settled or other unforeseen circumstances have arisen, Mr. Hartsuyker will refund your deposit if he receives notice seven (7) business days before the scheduled date. If you cancel the session less than seven (7) business days before the scheduled date, your deposit is non-refundable.
